You might want to upgrade the Oracle driver- I think there is a more  
recent one. But that shouldn't make that much off a difference. Have you  
run any comparative tests using iSQL? How long are the queries taking and  
how long do they take if you run them directly on the Oracle machine? If  
there is a difference would it be possible to test the setup on the db as  
quite often the network is the source of delays.
