I did run a sprint on to get started on this last year, but
we didn't get very far and the sprint showed how much work
even porting just one of the extensions is.
 Since we're still using mostly Python 2 in production and client
projects (clients still mostly have large Python 2 code bases),
the port to Python 3 is rather low priority. Without
funding in some form to cover the development costs, it's likely
going to stay like that for some time.

As much as I'd love to work on a port, I don't have the
resources to work on it.
